In the spring of 2010, Carrie received a text from her friend Ginna. Ginna told her that she had "a gentleman suitor" for Carrie; he liked pizza and red wine, and was a friend of Ginna's boyfriend Blake - was she interested in meeting him? Carrie had been planning on visiting Ginna at Purdue at some point soon, so the timing was perfect. She started to look at flights. And his Facebook page...

Meanwhile, in Michigan, Jim was hosting Ginna and Blake at his house in Ann Arbor, enjoying-what else-pizza and red wine. Ginna showed Jim pictures of Carrie on Facebook. He thought she was pretty, but figured that would be the end of the conversation. She was a California girl living in New York, and he was living in Michigan-could this even work? A few weeks later, Blake told Jim that Carrie was flying out to visit Ginna ... and that Jim better figure out a way to be in Indiana that weekend, too.

Carrie and Jim met on April 10th, 2010. They chatted about music and ate ice cream sandwiches, and he held her hand for the first time while watching American Psycho. It was weirdly perfect. That night he kissed her and she decided he was great. They exchanged numbers and said goodbye the next day-she flew back to New York and he began the drive back to Ann Arbor, both not quite sure what to make of the weekend they had just had. The next day he called her...and they've talked every day since.

After dating between New York, Michigan, and California, Jim proposed to Carrie on September 1st, 2012 in Sonoma, California.

Needless to say, we are both so happy and excited to begin the next part of our lives together, and celebrate the beginning of it with all of you-our friends and family.
